Interior of Scala Restaurant: Showcasing Brand Identity

The food and beverage industry is a broad sector that encompasses various categories, all of which require a strong branding strategy. The key is to extract the character of a place and visually portray it. Additionally, a brand represents the uniqueness and personality of a business. In today’s bite-sized crowd, it is imperative to understand that having a brand is essential for successfully navigating through the food and beverage industry, creating the ability to differentiate oneself from the rest.

Successful branding isn't accomplished solely through cohesive advertising but through consistency and the lasting feeling it imparts to the customer. At Redorange we understand that the most crucial element of branding is not any physical item, but rather the feeling that a customer experiences throughout their entire interaction with a brand. It’s as much about the way a restaurant makes a customer feel, as it is the food served to them. The value of a business is derived from the emotional connection that people make with it and how a brand positively reinforces their lifestyle choices.

We aim to deliver influential storytelling through our branding projects. We believe branding is a powerful tool that connects a product to a bigger picture, transforming it into an experience worth savouring and sharing. A brand goes beyond the name, logo, positioning, and messaging. By creating a constant look, feel, product, and service, we optimise the successful elements of branding to create a future-proof brand. The pivot between tradition and innovation lies in honouring culinary heritage, staying relevant, and embracing new trends and technologies. Striking this delicate balance allows us to create designs that pay tribute to the past while paving the way for the future.

Our focus is on promoting effective thinking, fostering social connections, and envisioning a better world. Moreover, tradition is an ever-evolving concept that should not only be respected but also celebrated. The digitalisation of our lives has facilitated the implementation of modern directives. Thus, marketing strategies were established on social media to promote the food and beverage (F&B) industry and establish transparent client relations. A brand must have a strong presence on social media to showcase its benefits and establish its position.

However, creating a market-aware brand is not enough. The challenge lies in using the right mix of social media platforms effectively in today’s digital world and utilising the brand as the main driver for an establishment’s positive operation. Ultimately, this will differentiate the growing brands from those that will remain stagnant.

We believe that promoting open acceptance of growth is crucial for driving positive changes in the industry. Fundamentally, we are committed to facilitating this process in every way possible. The branding work we create requires time and groundwork. The concept, menu, target audience, location, uniforms, and budget of the restaurant provided opportunities to create marketing strategies that would capture the essence of the establishment. Bahia is one of the many brands we strategically helped develop and keep aligning with the overall brand direction. Our goal was to create a cohesive and memorable experience for their customers, by curating and constructing the menu design, amongst other projects.

We created a brand identity for Scala restaurant that drew inspiration from both the exterior and interior design with a unique feature – its staircase. To highlight this feature, we created a bespoke wordmark that perfectly embodies the elegance of the place and transformed it into the modern establishment we know today.

The F&B industry holds a place for takeaway and ghost kitchens too. Furthermore, a new brand requires a lot of effort to develop a business model, establish the brand image and message, and come up with a definite name. Mighty-G is a ghost-kitchen that represents the fusion of rice from different cultures with the universal language of music. We were entrusted with the naming process and after thorough discussions, brainstorming, and planning, we were able to provide a name that not only captures the essence of the brand but also represents it as a whole.

As the F&B industry continues to evolve, we utilise digital tools and design strategies to establish a brand image that is both timeless and refreshingly modern. Our services encompass a wide range of categories within the industry, including not only restaurants but also companies that provide F&B services. Danish Bakery is a company that distributes baked goods across the island. They approached us to revitalize their brand identity and hand-picked us to rebrand their sub-brand Jespers. We updated and transformed Jespers's packaging, identity, website, and brand materials while preserving their reputation and turning it into a brand that is ready for the future.

Our collaboration with Danish Bakery exemplifies our commitment to crafting narratives that transcend time. We emphasise the importance of having a professional relationship with our clients, working together towards a common goal, and creating a partnership.

It is our belief that we are integral to a larger vision, a fundamental concept that unites us all. Thus, a good example of this is the brand identity that we developed for ProKitchen, a supplier of catering equipment. ProKitchen offers a complete range of professional products designed to cater to the needs of various establishments in the catering and hospitality industry. The brand effectively taps into the emotion and connection that people feel towards the food and beverage working environment.

When the layout of a business is in harmony with its brand vision, it can transform guests into loyal and passionate brand advocates. Creating value through brand image and guest experience lives in the mind of the guest long after the meal. We strive to continue our flavourful journey, designing spaces that inspire and leave a lasting impression on the world.

We are presently working on another 5 F&B projects across multiple mediums.
